Hulu is an internet video streaming service founded by NBC Universal and News Corp (owner of the FOX network) and run by Hulu, Inc. It provides streaming video content on-demand for free to users.

You can't submit videos to Hulu like you can to YouTube. Instead, videos are provided by partner production companies. Hulu's content includes clips from TV shows and movies, as well as complete episodes and movies from NBC, FOX, and other partners. Hulu's videos are supported by commercials, much like standard television, but they are generally only 15 to 30 seconds long. In some cases, you may opt out of these short commercial breaks by watching a longer, two minute commercial before the video begins.

Many videos are available in 480p resolution (on par with DVD) as opposed to the standard 360p, and the site has a very small library of high definition content at 720p. Videos can either be watched at Hulu's site or embedded elsewhere. The website doesn't just host TV shows and movies already shown on TV networks and in theaters. There is some original content as well; for example, Hulu was one of the sites that debuted Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog, a popular one hour feature written and directed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly creator Joss Whedon. Hulu has also taken to providing live broadcasts of major events like political speeches and debates.
