The Promise SmartStor NS4600 is a NAS as well as a DLNA digital media server. The four-drive network attached storage device supports SMB, CIFS, NFS, and AFP file sharing protocols, and has one gigbit ethernet port, two USB 2.0 ports, and one eSATA port.
The DLNA certified media server supports XBOX 360, PS3, Popcornhour, Sony DLNA TV, Samsung TV and more and works as an iTunes digital media server with "video" support, an industry first as well as offers support for Apple's Time Machine. The NAS has a removable power supply with no fan, one touch backup, and can also work as a web server to host your personal website.
The Promise SmartStor NS4600 will be available in May 2009 for $500.
