Microsoft Windows XP Home is a Windows operating system first released in October 2001, designed as a successor to Windows 2000 and featuring built-in video support for creating and watching home movies, customizable themes, support for multiple users, and Windows Media Player 9. Users can also browse the Internet with Internet Explorer 6.0 and MSN Explorer, add or remove shortcuts from their pop-up menu, and connect Bluetooth-enabled keyboards and mice. While three service pack additions have been integrated into Windows XP since its release, the operating system has been replaced on many Windows products with Windows Vista Home Edition, although certain netbooks and other smaller devices still depend on Windows XP for operation. Prices start at about $180, and downloads for upgraded Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer, and other functions.
