Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Moblin is an open source project to develop a Linux-based operating system for mobile devices, particularly netbooks and nettops, but also including mobile internet devices (MIDs) and in-vehicle computer systems. Started by Intel but now overseen by the Linux Foundation, Moblin is based on a Fedora Linux core with a GNOME-influenced desktop and application suite.

Moblin is designed to be more function-centric than application-centric as with most OSes. The home screen, dubbed the M-Zone, displays a set of horizontal tabs in a menu bar that serves as the central command center for getting things done.
