3D TV coming to Best Buy this week

Hulu Desktop is just what it sounds like: a free, downloadable desktop app for Mac and Windows computers that lets you browse and watch stuff from the Hulu streaming video website without a web browser.

Ditching a web browser is actually the least of the benefits of the application. Its interface resembles that of Apple Front Row, Microsoft Windows Media Center, or Boxee. That means it can be deployed fullscreen and controlled with a Media Center or Front Row-compatible remote, making using Hulu on an actual television (as opposed to a laptop or desktop PC with a computer monitor) much more convenient.

Note that Hulu Desktop doesn't actually download the videos to your computer; it still streams. It's just different packaging for the same service. You can log in with your Hulu account and set up your queue just like you can on the website, too. The video you're watching even continues playing in the corner of the screen while you browse videos or manage your queue.

Like the web version, Hulu Desktop requires Adobe Flash Player to be installed on your computer to watch videos.
