Google Picasa is a digital imaging application available for free from Google, used for organizing and editing digital image files. It was originally created by software developers Idealab and was purchased by Google in 2004. It’s name is a combination of Picasso’s name and the Spanish “mi casa” which means “my house.” Picasa has basic editing functions such as cropping, resizing, and red eye removal. It organizes users’ pictures by assigning them keywords that one can enter in the ever-present search bar at the top of the application window.
