Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

The BlackBerry Desktop Manager manages the connection between your BlackBerry smartphone and your desktop or laptop computer. It lets you sync music, mail, calendars, photos, and other files between the two devices. It also installs software updates to your BlackBerry and manages the applications you have installed on it.

RIM has gotten a bit of flak for only offering a Windows version of the Desktop Manager, forcing Mac users to jump through hoops to manage their smartphones on their computers, but a Mac version was finally announced for a September release. It ended up coming out on October 2nd instead. Close enough! The Desktop Manager is available now at the BlackBerry website.

The Mac version of the Desktop Manager requires Mac OS 10.5.5 or higher, and it integrates with iTunes so you can sync your BlackBerry with the data stored there. It also lets you sync multiple devices with the same computer.
