Released on October 26, 2007, the Mac OS X version 10.5, dubbed as "Leopard," is the sixth major release of Apple's desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. Characterized as the successor to the Mac OS X v10.4 “Tiger” system, Apple announced that Leopard offered over 300 new features, including Desktop, which comprises a redesigned 3-D dock with the Stacks grouping features that displays files in either "fan", "grid", or "list" styles; an update Finder functionality that gives users access to all of their files by using Cover Flow or by clicking items in an iTunes-style sidebar; and Back to My Mac for MobileMe users that provides access to files on their home computer while away from home via the Internet.
