Optoma's Pico PK-101 is a compact, 4-oz. projector able display images up to 60 inches wide onto nearby surfaces from mobile devices such as iPods, iPhones, camcorders, and digital cameras. The PK-101 is limited by a composite video/stereo audio input and a 480 x 320 resolution, but has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, an LED light source with a 20,000 hour lifespan, and a battery life of up to 1.5 hours. Users can run the mini projector on two AA batteries or through the included power adapter. Other pocket projector models, such as the PK20 by Mitsubishi, offer SVGA resolutions of 800 x 600, but often at higher prices, such as the $699 retail price for the Mitsubishi model. Prices start at only about half of that — $399.99 — for the American release of the PK-101.
