The Casio XJ-S43W Super Slim projector claims to be the world's thinnest projector in press materials, but that requires a lot of qualifying, especially with those tiny handheld Pico projectors out and about now.

However, for a fully-featured home theater or business presentation projector, the XJ-S43W is very compact. It weighs less than four pounds and is only 1.7 inches thick, so it's about the size of small laptop. These dimensions aren't new; Casio has been putting out "Super Slim" projectors for a while now. But this is the first model to fall at the comparatively low $1,000 price point.

Its top supported resolution is 1280 x 800, so it's safe to say that it can do 720p media (Xbox 360, anyone?) in addition to your business presentations. It also ranks in at 2,500 lumens with an 1800:1 contrast ratio. Throw in an HDMI port and you've got a good idea of what to expect if you go out to buy this projector.
