The Cakewalk V-Studio 100 is a multi-function audio product designed to work as a MIDI controller, a gig recorder, a mixer and an effects box. It supports Mackie Control and SONAR’s ACT and is equipped with a touch-sensitive fader, five rotary encoders for multiple controller options, 11 buttons, and transport controls. If you prefer to use the V-Studio as a stand-alone mixer, it comes with eight audio in and six audio out jacks in addition to a variety of built-in sound effects including four reverb options and six different EQ channels. You can also record 2-channel audio to SD cards and manipulate recordings with the bundled software, which includes options to strip vocals, add synth effects, and program up to four virtual instruments. There is no word yet on retail prices but the V-Studio 100 should be available in June 2009.
