The Akai Miniak is a compact synthesizer developed by Akai and Alesis as a portable synth system for on-the-move professionals and serious amateurs. The synthesizer features over 600 preset sounds, two multimode filters for mixing sounds together, three envelope generators, two LFOs, and a 40-band vocoder. You can use the sequencer's real time step/dynamic abilities and add beats with the drum/rhythm sequencer, in addition to fine-tuning creations with the arpeggiator. You can also create programs with up to eight multi-timbral voices with three oscillators per voice. There is no word on prices yet, but the Miniak should be at sometime in Q3 2009.
