Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

The Plastic Logic Reader is digital reader device featuring an 8.5 x 11-inch, flexible plastic touchscreen and a battery expected to last for days. Plastic Logic has not revealed details concerning how much data it will be able to hold, although the Reader is promised to weigh about the same as a business periodical (less than 16 ounces), and is compatible with PDFs, Word and Excel documents, e-books or ezines. Prices for the Plastic Logic Reader have not yet been announced either, but the device is expected to be released to selected partners in late 2009, with a full commercial release planned for early 2010. Plastic Logic has teamed up with Barnes & Noble bookstore to provide the device with content, and AT&T is reportedly going to provide 3G connectivity for the device, which will also have built-in WiFi.
