Nokia's N810 Internet Tablet is a handheld device that forgoes Nokia's traditional cell phone focus, and instead provides internet connectivity for web browsing and limited third-party applications, most notably VoIP provider Skype. The series started in the U.S. in May 2005, and the N810 is the 3rd redesign, released in November 2007. The device connects to the internet via Wi-Fi, or in conjunction with a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone, to access email or the web with Nokia's mobile browser. Nokia also included its Ovi Internet service, with access to N-Gage games and their Music Store, which feeds into the Rhapsody music player. The device doesn't have any sort of cellular radio, but users can make VoIP calls with Google Talk, Jabber, and new to the available options are Gizmo and Skype. The Internet Tablet OS, Maemo, supports a library of third-party applications for download. The biggest design updates with the N810 are the fully slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a GPS receiver with mapping software.
