Announced at CES 2009, the Memorex TouchMP is an 8GB media player featuring a 2.8-inch, 320 x 240 touchscreen and video, audio, and image playback capabilities. The player supports WMV, MPEG-4, AVI in MP4 video formats along with MP3, WMA, WAV audio formats and JPEG images. Users can also listen to FM radio, download podcasts, and enjoy audio books with the touchscreen player. The TouchMP's rechargeable battery has a maximum life of 50 hours for audio and three hours for video playback. Retail prices start at $99.99, though the player is not due to be released until March 2009.

Memorex TouchMP gives consumers access to 8GB of their favorite music, video and photos from a 2.8-inch QVGA color display and touch screen LCD with 320x240 resolution that supports full-screen photo viewing and large album art to accompany your playlists. The custom user interface, adaptable to portrait or landscape mode, makes this PMP extremely easy to use.

TouchMP plays both video (WMV, MPEG-4, AVI in MP4 format) and audio (MP3, WMA, WAV), and displays photos in JPEG format. Included software allows users to convert a wide array of other types of audio and video files to work with the TouchMP. The rechargeable battery lasts for up to 50 hours of audio and three hours of video playback. It also includes a digital FM radio, podcast support and Audible™ support for downloading audio books. A micro SD card slot supports up to 8GB of additional capacity for even more enjoyment of music and memories.

Pricing and Availability

The Memorex TouchMP digital media player will be shipping to retailers in March with 8GB of flash-based capacity for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $99.99.
