The Archos 405 2-GB media player is the smaller and less pricey sibling of the Archos 605 WiFi, but does not come with WiFi connectivity or a touch-screen interface. The 405 features a 3.5-inch LCD screen with a 480 x 272 resolution, playback of multimedia files including MP3, WMA, MPEG-4, and WMV, and an SD expansion slot that supports high-capacity Flash memory cards up to 16GB. As with the Archos 605 WiFi, the 405 has a variety of options available including an extended battery pack priced at $49 that doubles as a stand and a $99 DVR Station that allows users to record and view videos from another source such as a television, cable box, or satellite receiver.
