Google Chrome OS unveiled, released to open source community

Microsoft's LifeCam HD is notable because it's the first consumer webcam that captures real, 1280 x 720-pixel 720p video at 30 frames per second. Most webcams that claim to shoot HD don't quite make the cut in reality.

Other features include a 4x digital zoom, auto focus, and a noise-canceling microphone. Microsoft also brags of a technology called ClearFrame that smooths video capture, but it's unclear exactly how the tech works. The LifeCam HD connects to your computer via USB.

You'll be able to buy it on September 9th, 2009 for $79.99 if you want to.
