Google has announced the features of its Google Maps service for Android 2.0 cell phones. 3D views and turn-by-turn directions are both in the cards. It looks to be a marked improvement over the old Android Google Maps functionality.

Google also officially unveiled its Music Search feature for the web, which uses data from partners Lala and MySpace's iLike. With it you can search for songs and play them to verify that they're the ones you're looking for thanks to integration with Pandora, imeem, and Rhapsody.

The United Kingdom is launching a new wing of its government to combat piracy and copyright infringement, and one of the top officials has said that people caught repeatedly downloading illegal content will be forcibly disconnected from the internet.
