Fulfilling its Open Screen Project vision, Adobe has made the deals necessary to offer its Flash Player on Google Android, Windows Mobile 6.5, Palm webOS, Nokia Symbian, and RIM BlackBerry smartphones. The only popular smartphone platform left out is the iPhone.
Windows Mobile and webOS (used by the Palm Pre) will get Flash this year, Android and Symbian early next year, and BlackBerry at some other time in the future.
In addition to new platform support, Adobe Flash 10.1 adds a slew of new features for many operating systems including multi-touch support and GPU acceleration.
