Digitimes is reporting that a company called Aptina has secured a contract to provide 1.3-megapixel CMOS image sensors for the Xbox 360's Project Natal. We'll buy into that, sure. But it's also saying that a new Xbox 360 console of some kind is hitting in the second half of 2010 — that is to say, Natal might not just be a peripheral.

You'd best be skeptical of that part, but this is not the first news to suggest that Natal is coming in some form in 2010, so that's something interesting to mull over whether the new console bit is an error or not.
