Samsung just won a huge victory in a patent dispute with fellow display manufacturer Sharp. A U.S. trade agency has determined that Sharp's LCD panels, which may infringe on Samsung patents, should be banned from import to the United States.

This would affect many of Sharp's products, including the popular AQUOS HDTVs, and since other companies sometimes use Sharp LCD panels, it could affect them as well. Sharp will probably appeal, so we'll have to sit back and see what happens.
