Bobby Kotick, CEO of game publisher Activision said that his company may re-assess its support of Sony's PlayStation 3 and PSP consoles in 2010 or 2011. Activision is the world's biggest video game publisher, known for enormous hits like Guitar Hero and Call of Duty. Kotick said that the PS3 is too expensive, and that Sony needs to drop the price to move more units to make it worthwhile for Activision to invest in developing for the platform.

It seems like a bit of hot air, though, as Activision's top titles have sold millions of copies on the PS3 — consistently less than on the more widely-adopted Xbox 360, for sure, but still enough to make developing for the PS3 profitable, we should think.

You say 'it seems like a bit of hot air'! Hmmm . . . Where exactly did you get the 'fact' of Activision having sold 'million of titles' for PS3? Sony is in deep trouble right now on all fronts. I belive 'natural selection' is very good :-) We should have a more 'streamed lined' Sony. They've expanded too much lately. Now they are 'contracting'. Let's hope, they are not going the way Germany did after their 'expansion' at the end of the last millenia :-) Shortly the 2nd quarter 2009 results will be announced (in a few weeks) and are not looking good at all !

Where exactly did you get the 'fact' that Sony is in deep trouble? They've pushed 12 million more units than they expected to last year. They've set records for their own sales. If anything they're knee deep in success. (Btw, my 'facts" do have support, go view Jack Trentton's speach at E3)
