The trend became popular with Apple's App Store, of course, but now everybody is doing the cell phone software store thing. Sony Ericsson's PlayNow service has in the past been used strictly for music, movies, ringtones, and other stuff like that, but the cell phone company just announced in a press release that it plans to bring applications to the PlayNow store too. Developers will be able to start submitting apps for approval on July 1st, but there's no word yet on when you'll be able to actually download the stuff to your phone.
