Makers of the cult favorite OQO mobile internet device/UMPC have finally succumbed to financial troubles and closed their doors, phone lines and repair services. Unfortunately it looks like the OQO model 02 will never see the cold hard light of production day.

Well it was a cult but a small cult at that. Their problem is that they never could generate any sales due to the lack of a touch type keyboard. Nobody wants a thumb based full PC; how many of you would find it enjoyable to type pages of text with two thumbs? They should have made it a clamshell.

strikefource hit the nail right on the head! I would never buy a Windows thumb computer. I just want a pocket laptop and am still waiting for one.
