Every now and then PSP owners get a special treat through the tubes of the internet — a firmware update! Okay, it's not always as exciting as we're making out to be, but this one is actually worth looking forward to. A bit.
It adds a news ticker called the Information Bar to the interface. You may have seen this on your PlayStation 3 console; it mostly serves to pimp game demos and other downloads that you can grab for a buck or 20 on the PlayStation Store. Another PS3 feature that's making the leap to the portable device is game-related internet searching. You can search for information and tips about any game directly from the XMB interface.
Somewhat less sexy is a free trial of Trend Micro's internet security suite. It will protect your PSP from phishing schemes and other stuff that could lead to unknowns stealing your personal data. It also offers some parental control features. We don't know how long the PSP trial lasts.
Lastly, you can now create folders on your Memory Stick PRO Duo for storing music, videos, and games. Connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot tomorrow to get the update.

If that is true I will sell my psp 2000 soon and get a new one.I always felt guilty putting custom firmware in mine cause I didn't want to be tempted to pirate psp games but now I don't have to worry.
