According to a tweet from Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame, a new NIN app for the iPhone and iPod touch will be free and could arrive as early as sometime today. Wired managed to get a video demo of the new music app in action, which we've embedded below. Kevin Rose of Digg fame even makes an appearance to talk about how useful the application is for NIN fans who want to participate while attending concerts by taking pictures that are tagged and uploaded to the NIN site. All in all, it looks to be an interesting way for NIN to reach out to fans that we hope other musicians will take up.

This is brilliant. Kudos to Trent and co. for taking the leap, ditching the labels and diving in to the fan-centric future of music.
