Google Docs add drawing tools along with find and replace
Doodlers everywhere can now add nonsensical drawings to shared Google Docs and proofreaders can search and replace their boss's typos.

Google Docs received a nice set of feature upgrades in the form of some SVG drawing tools and a find and replace function. In order to add some vector-based drawings to any of your Google Docs, simply open the document and select Insert—>Drawing... from the menu bar and the drawing tools window pictured above will open up in a pop-over floating window. There are a wide variety of pre-defined shapes available as well as a fill tool, a line tool, an arrow tool, a text entry tool, and a freeform line tool for drawing / doodling. The one odd thing about the interface is that in order to save the drawing to your document, you have to hit the X button in the upper-right hand corner, which is a bit counter-intuitive, but does manage to both close the image editor, save the drawing, and insert the drawing into your document.

To use the Find and Replace function, one can either type Command+F on OS X or CTRL+F on Windows to bring up the dialogue bar pictured above, or navigate to Edit—>Find and Replace... via the menu bar. Then it's a simple matter of entering the item you want to find in the find field and the text you want to replace that item with in the Replace with: field.
For all of you who really love the drawing accompanying this post, I've shared it as a published webpage.

I can see people sharing mockups in Google Docs now. Not replacing Skitch, but great for wireframes to show someone positioning.
Cool!
