In the olden days, you had to be a paying Pro user of Flickr to upload videos, but not anymore! The photo-sharing site has opened up video sharing to all of its users, albeit with a caveat or two.

The most important of those caveats is that as a free user you can only share two videos per month. We understand that's because the bandwidth costs for uploading and downloading all those videos are very high, but we can't help but wonder why you wouldn't just use YouTube instead of operating within Flickr's limitation. The other caveat is that it doesn't work over the web; you'll have to install Flickr's Uploadr software to your computer.

It's better than nothing, right? On the bright side, paying users can now upload and view videos in 720p high definition. In fact, all videos that have been uploaded at that resolution in the past will start appearing in HD before long without any additional input needed from the person who originally shared it.
