Lenovo Constant Connect syncs BlackBerrys with powered-off ThinkPads
An ExpressCard will regularly connect to your BlackBerry and sync your e-mails even when the laptop is off, but there's no word yet on which laptops, phones, and e-mail programs will work.

Lenovo just introduced a fancy new technology to keep your smartphone and laptop e-mail in sync. The tech is called Lenovo Constant Connect, and it all happens on an ExpressCard that you insert into your Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. The card periodically makes a Bluetooth wireless connection to your BlackBerry cell phone and synchronizes your e-mail inboxes and outboxes, even if the laptop itself is powered off.
As soon as you turn the laptop back on, the card makes sure your computer's e-mail program has all the e-mails you've sent and received on your BlackBerry, without the need to retrieve anything from the internet. There are some other uses too; for example, even if there's no internet connection available for your laptop, you can write an e-mail on it and then send it via the BlackBerry.
These cards will be available from Lenovo in the second quarter of this year. Before you get too excited, be aware that we have no idea which ThinkPads, BlackBerrys, and e-mail programs will work with this, nor do we know how much it'll cost. Excited anyway? Yeah, us too, kinda.
