DTV conversion delayed, new deadline is June 12th
The United States Government bought consumers some time in making the digital switch. Or did it?

At long last, the Digital TV Delay Act has finally crawled its way through both houses of Congress and is awaiting the signature of President Obama.
The act, which is expected to be signed by the President without delay, will move the deadline date for broadcasters to switch all broadcasts to digital from February 17th to June 12th.
While this may be fortunate for those who haven't taken the opportunity to secure a digital conversion box, it is certainly not going to be the end of the confusion. Most broadcasters were already planning their switch in accordance with the original date and, as such, over half of them are being given the option to switch prior to the new date. This means that while some consumers may be under the impression they have an additional four months before they have to worry about picking up a conversion box, some of their favorite channels may decide to make the switch sooner, leaving them in the dark.
Our advice: don't wait. Make sure you have your digital converter box ready for the switch, no matter when it may occur.
