Mom always told us it's not nice to spread rumors, but she never had all sorts of juicy cell phone gossip at her disposal. The latest we've been hearing about concerns the next revision to T-Mobile's Sidekick line, which looks to be the first such 3G model.

Though they may seem like just another series of messaging phones now, when the Sidekick first came out, originally developed as the Danger Hiptop, it was revolutionary to have a full-QWERTY thumbboard to type in texts with and make website interaction a breeze.

The most flushed-out source of info available for the new Sidekick LX is a screenshot from an online survey to gauge users interest in smartphones, providing what look like legit specs. According to the screen, the new Sidekick will build a lot of social network connectivity into the handset, including Facebook, YouTube, and MySpace. The phone's 3.2-inch display will get bumped up to a nice, high 854 x 480 resolution. To give you a source for getting videos up on those social sites, the Sidekick's camera will boast 3.2 megapixels and let you record to a microSD card as large as 8 GB. All that video uploading will certainly be helped out by the new 3G data speeds.

It's still very, very early to say any of these specs are finalized, but we'll be updating you as we hear more, and hopefully know something about when the phone will finally be available.
