There are a lot more options for watching movies online now than there were just a couple of years ago. Netflix offers a vast library of films to its subscribers, iTunes beats Blockbuster with its selection of pay-to-download movies, and Hulu has a smaller but ad-supported-and-therefore-free selection. You'll be getting even more choices soon. Among them will be Epix, a subscription-based website that will stream the latest films from the Lionsgate, Paramount, and MGM movie studios.

Assuming everything goes according to plan, Epix will actually be tied to a premium cable TV station of the same name, similar to Stars or oldschool HBO. It will air big, new Hollywood pictures from its three parent studios about nine months after their theatrical releases. Among the illustrious titles planned for opening day: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Iron Man.

The Silicon Alley Insider reports that Netflix is in talks to offer Epix's content to its own subscribers, so if you're already a Netflix user you might not even have to add a second bill.
