This is just a rumor, but it's a neat one. A gaming industry mole told website Ars Technica that Microsoft will release a new edition of its Xbox 360 video game console in March. The new model would be red instead of the usual white or black, and would come bundled with the much-anticipated horror game Resident Evil 5, the follow up to (yes) Resident Evil 4, one of the most critically acclaimed and financially succesful games on the last generation of game consoles.

We can't tell you how much it would cost yet (cause we don't know), but if you buy it you will allegedly also get a red controller, a Resident Evil 5 theme for the console's NXE interface, and a free copy of Super Street Fighter II HD, a version of the classic arcade fighting game redrawn for high definition televisions.

The Resident Evil games are notorious for their difficulty, gore, and scare factor, so this won't appeal to everyone. If you're the Nintendo Wii type of gamer, you'd probably best stay clear, but the hardcore crowd (you know who you are) will eat this thing up if it pans out.
