Earlier today, a number of Microsoft Zune media players stopped working. After tech blogs and forums lit up with complaints some workarounds were suggested, but Microsoft has just published the definitive word: wait till tomorrow, and your Zune will work perfectly again. Turns out that the media player's internal clock is ill-equipped to handle a leap year, but if you let the battery die then recharge tomorrow, it will reset and all will be back to normal.

So it's not quite as catastrophic as the infamous Y2K bug was supposed to be. But then again, neither was Y2K! Hopefully you weren't planning to make your Zune an integral part of your New Year's Eve bash, though.
