Asus has quietly released a new Eee PC netbook, the 900SD. Although pricing and availability in the U.S. haven't been formally announced yet, chances are that the device will run under the current price of the Eee PC 900, since the 900SD is nearly identical to the 900, but it comes with a smaller hard drive (8GB SSD vs 12GB /20GB /30GB in the 900), 512MBs of RAM instead of 1GB, and a less wonderful 0.3 megapixel webcam. However, the device does come in more color choices (blue, gold, purple, black, and white) than the Eee PC 900's black and white and Asus claims it will have a battery life of 3.5 hours which is about an hour longer than the 900. Asus is also trying to position the 10GBs of online storage available with the device as a "Super Hybrid Engine," most likely in an attempt to compete with the buzz that MSI has managed to receive with the news of their hybrid SSD and HDD Wind U115.
