With CES 2009 just around the New Year's corner, the cone of silence surrounding the event is starting to spring leaks, and today there's news of a new LG wrist-watch-esque 3G capable cellular smartphone, the LG-GD910. Unlike previous attempts to bring the Dick Tracy dream of an intelligent wrist-based communicator device to life, the LG-GD910 would actually appear to have some pretty cool features packed into it, although the size alone of the device means it will probably not be quite as easy to use as one would like, and it is missing the signature Dick Tracy antennae. It features a 1.43 inch full touchscreen LCD which eliminates usability if you have big meaty fingers. The LG-GD910 also features the ability to place video calls via a front-facing camera, voice dialing with built-in speech recognition, a text-to-speech feature, built-in Bluetooth, and download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps on HSDPA. There is no word yet on pricing or availability.
