It pays to be a cultural phenomenon! According to VGChartz, a site that estimates video game console sales, the Nintendo Wii sold over a million units last week, far more than the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Nintendo knows it's living the dream, because it opened its own ultra-snazzy department at the Toys R Us store in Times Square, New York. Keep in mind that's only just down the street from Nintendo's own flagship store; apparently that just wasn't enough exposure!

Pictured above, the department is full of Nintendo memorobilia, a "DS bar" and panels on which to play the Wii. It's a paradise for video game-loving children, and it's all visible from the street. So if you're taking kids to New York any time soon, you'd better cover their eyes as you pass or they'll be asking you to spend more money than you probably want to. Actually, we won't blame you for being tempted even if you go alone. You work hard; you deserve a Nintendo DS, right?

If a retailer could secure a steady, constant flow of Wii and DS systems from Nintendo, via a contract or whatever, and it could have a 100% In-Stock rate, that store could throw all other merchandise in the dumpster and they would still do just fine.
