Verizon BlackBerry Storm return rates uncertain

Following quickly upon reports of the Storm suffering from high return rates, Verizon claims that the rates are the lowest of any PDA.

Shortly after Silicon Alley Insider reported that the BlackBerry Storm was being returned "en masse," the Boy Genius Report received a statement from a Verizon Wireless official, stating: "The Storm has the lowest return rate of any of our PDAs and at this point in its life cycle, it has the lowest return rate of any PDA we currently sell" (Emphasis ours). Something's suspicious about this considering that BGR had 3 reliable sources reporting that the return rates were extremely high and multiple publications reported on that fact. Also, who's to say that in Verizon's definition PDA statistics share the same statistics as their smartphones? On the Verizon Wireless site, BlackBerries are listed in their own section separate from Verizon's PDA & Smartphone section and each BlackBerry is referred to as a BlackBerry Smartphone.

We'd love to hear comments from people who bought the BlackBerry Storm or from Verizon representatives. Do you love it? Did you return it? Let us know in the comments.
