If you're an internet junkie, you probably find yourself attached to the wall with a wire or stuck in a Wi-Fi area more than you'd like. We have a guide to each of the technologies that'll let you surf anywhere, but here's a spoiler: usually you have to pick one or the other, and they all have unique downsides.

Sprint is now offering an option that'll let you use two of the best options at once: the 3G / 4G USB Modem U300, which can connect both to Sprint's EV-DO 3G network and the much-faster WiMAX network. You'll be able to buy the modem on or after December 21st for $200 with a two-year contract. A $50 rebate is available too.

While EV-DO is just about everywhere now, WiMAX is unfortunately only available in Baltimore. Thanks to a recent hook-up between Sprint and a WiMAX company called Clearwire, the network will expand to more cities starting with Portland in January, but it might be a long time before you can use this new modem to its fullest potential.
