Motorola RUSH 2, CALGARY, INFERNO, and FLASH coming to Verizon in 2009
Four mysterious Motorola phones have surfaced, giving us a preview of what the handset manufacturer has in store for its 2009 lineup. The four models spotted are all Verizon-branded, and range from what looks like a full-touchscreen smartphone, to a pair of full-QWERTY models, to a touchscreen flip phone.
The FLASH is the full-touchscreen model, featuring an angled, beveled design and a handful of raised input keys. The RUSH 2 (pictured) looks like your run-of-the-mill side-sliding QWERTY messaging phone, perhaps notable for the bold red color choice Motorola has gone with. The other forthcoming messaging phone, dubbed CALGARY, looks like like either a slider or a Sidekick-style swivel-flip handset and features the same kind of chemical-etched metal key surface as the RAZR. The touchscreen INFERNO sports a transparent flip-open cover just like the Krave ZN4 has, protecting the screen's surface while closed.
All four models should be trickling out throughout 2009, with the RUSH 2 scheduled for a first quarter release.

Steve, it does not look like the Calgary will be a smart phone. It has the same UI (User Interface) as the Krave, so I am expecting the UI to be like the Krave (or potentially the Glyde, but that was terrible.)

My dad is a phone designer for Motorola and according to him these are the release dates and prices for all four phones (with 2 yr contract):
Rush 2 - March 21 $79.99
Calgary - August 19 $249.99
Flash - November 4 $299.99
Inferno - December 3 $279.99

I have been watching for two phones since november 2008. I was wondering if there is any word on when they may be released. The rush 2 for verizon, and the Calgary. I had heard clagary may be a concept phone and never be made. I was due for upgrade a few months back but am waiting for a great motorola phone since verizon lacks any.

heyyyy i know that the Calgary is listed as a smart phone, which is great and all, but i have the voyager and would KILL for this phone, except I'm not allowed to get a smart phone because you have to pay like $20 a month for the whole smartphone-ness of it. i hope it will just be a regular cell phone, so many more people would get it if it was a regular cell phone ! :D -kattt

looks really great! inferno...:))) would gladly have one. have never used motorola before though. just read a lot at different blogs I found with the help of http://www.picktorrent.com search engine or heard the experience of my friends. seems great. think i'll give it a go! if you never try, you'll never know. but it looks awesome!!!

First they kill the Inferno and Flash then they rename the Rush2 to the Rival now the Calgary render is dead and it's been replaced by the Motorola Sholes which is claimed to be the first android phone from Motorola due in October. Crazy.
