The most avid video game fans love rumors, and sometimes a little too much. That's why you should take the following with a few hundred grains of salt. Gaming news site Eurogamer reported today that sources told its editors that a new PSP (PlayStation Portable) model currently dubbed PSP-4000 (the follow-up to the PSP-3000 that came out in October) will be hitting store shelves late next year. The sources also said that a totally new successor presumably called something like "PSP 2" will arrive sometime after that, and that PSP 2 games are already in development. This is a bit odd since Sony's European president David Reeves insisted that he hadn't heard a thing about whether or not a PSP successor is in the works, so really: pass the salt!
