The Samsung Memoir, spotted last week, has gotten official, with FCC documents identifying it as the model number T929. Unfortunately, Samsung requested that the agency keep all the juicy documents, like the manual and photos of the handset, confidential for the next six months. In the limited paperwork available, we can see a basic line-art rendering of the eight-megapixel camera phone, specifically where the FCC ID label will go under the battery, and get a look at the large space reserved on the phone's back for the camera and lens assembly. From the look of things, the camera will include a real xenon flash bulb instead of a less-bright LED solution, which makes sense if Samsung is going to market this as a serious replacement for a stand-alone camera. Sure enough, confirming guesses from last week, the Memoir is a 3G phone, tested for 1700MHz HSDPA transmission, strongly suggesting that T-Mobile will be carrying the handset. Although the FCC docs reveal that the phone receives GPS and Bluetooth signals, there's still no word on WiFi, which at this point seems like confirmation that it won't be included.
