Cowon S9 Curve media player getting American release this week

Last week we heard that Cowon, which had previously not planned on releasing its S9 Curve media player before 2009, was going ahead with a release in the UK. As if that wasn't enough of a reversal, the company is moving forward with an American release as well. Starting December 19th, the touchscreen device with its 3.3-inch AMOLED screen will be available for sale, priced at $200 for the 8GB version and $240 for the 16GB model. The announced prices are cheaper than the equivalent amount the Curve is going for in the UK, but the difference in price between the two storage options is just as slim; considering the $200 base price, $40 to double your storage is an obvious upgrade.
