Once again, documents filed with the FCC are revealing the latest phone news, this time updating us on the American localization of Samsung's M8800 camera phone, to be called the Pixon in the US. Once it's released here, it could be the first camera phone to sport an eight-megapixel sensor. The handset will support geotagging photos with its GPS receiver and feature camera controls on its 3.2-inch touchscreen. Like we were able to surmise when looking at the FCC documents for the Sony C905A, the radio bands the Pixon uses for its 3G high-speed data are AT&T-specific, strongly suggesting that the carrier will be the one to offer the Pixon for sale. The C905A is also an eight-megapixel phone, so it's a bit of a race to see which will be the first to hit the streets. Either way, AT&T customers should have plenty of high-end camera phone choices to mull over.
