Toshiba announced a slew of laptop models for its Qosimo and Dynabook lines, including one using its SpursEngine media coprocessor. All told, Toshiba laid out twenty new models, most of them new entries to the Dynabook TX, EX, CX, and AX series. The standout machines amongst those announced are the Qosimo F50, G50, FX, and GX. The FX and GX look best-suited for handling games, featuring 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processors, 4GB default RAM, and Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics chipsets. The only difference between the models is their screens, at 15.4 inches for the FX and 18.4 inches for the GX.

The F50 and G50 are also both 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo machines with 4GB RAM and share the same screen options as the FX and GX. Although they lack the Nvidia graphics chips, the G50 includes Toshiba's SpursEngine chip. The SpursEngine coprocessor is based on the Cell technology used in the PlayStation 3 gaming console. Featuring four processing cores, the SpursEngine runs at 1.5GHz and handles 3D and video processing, making the G50 look well-suited for media playback. All the new Toshiba laptops should start trickling out to stores, starting in Japan, throughout the month. For the complete run-down on all the rest, check out Toshiba's official announcement.
