If you have a blog that runs on WordPress, you'll be interested in hearing that WordPress 2.7 "Coltrane" is now freely available for download. If you're a truly advanced user who loves using the command line, you should definitely take a look at how to install the update with one bit of command line code over at Hackaday. However you go about the update, make sure you take the regular precautions of backing up your current install and database.

If you have no idea what WordPress is or you're curious to know what's in this newest customizable version of this free blogging CMS, the people over at WordPress.org have put together a video tour, embedded below.

If you don't have a blog and you're interested in getting into the world of blogging, make sure you take a look at our Blogging 101 feature for an introduction to blogging. If downloading WordPress and installing it on a hosted server sounds like too much work for you and you just want to tinker with WordPress 2.7 a bit, you can always jump over to WordPress.com and sign up for a free blog, which admittedly will be lacking some of the customizations that you would have in your own installation from WordPress.org.
