After waiting all day for it to arrive, we eagerly installed and launched PlayStation Home once it finally showed up this afternoon on the dashboard of our PS3, but unfortunately we were met with the following error when we tried to log in (pictured above):

"Request timed out /HUBPS3_SVML/unity/start.jsp"

A quick look online showed that we weren't the only ones experiencing this error. Most likely this is being caused by the huge influx of new users flooding Sony's servers. We've tried connecting three times in a row with the same error.

Have you experienced this same problem and is this simply launch day woes or a larger problem? Let us know what you think in the comments.

UPDATE: We're still trying to connect and encountered another error which would appear to be the End User License Agreement acceptance not properly transmitting to Sony (pictured below):

"Request timed out /HUBPS3_SVML/unity/eulaConfirm.jsp"

We also received these other errors:

"Request timed out /HUBPS3_SVML/unity/unityNpLogin.jsp"

"Request timed out /HUBPS3_SVML/unity/SP_Login_Submit.jsp"

I tried connecting again this morning in hopes of putting together a first impressions post, but, although I finally managed to connect, about 3 minutes into designing my avatar I unexpectedly lost connection to the server and haven't been able to reconnect since.

what else is new. PSN is known for failing because of their crappy programmers and cheap servers that can never handle a lot of people.

LBP, Resistance 2, SOCOM, etc failed the first 2 weeks

As always this is what you will expect from Sony trying to keep up with Microsoft they should know by now that they should have there stuff in place before letting the rest of the world connect on the same day. Will Sony ever get there act together or will they just keep doing the same crap they always do since the first announce they was going release Home since in 2007.

I first tried to login on the launch day and got the C-931 after a few attempts I gave up just for the pure fact too many people are trying the same thing, at 1am I tried again and in seconds I was creating my avatar and strolling around home square.
on the 12th december around 8am GMT i tried again to login after 3 tries I was in but then the whole lot crashed, I tried to join again but no luck it was only until I tried at 11:45pm GMT on the 13th december and now at present time of this post I get the HUBPS3_SVML/unity/start.jsp message.

A bit sucky really Sony should of really took this into account
