Evidently yesterday when we reported that Sony indicated that PlayStation Home's arrival was "imminent" what that meant was that it will be arriving in beta on December 11th (tomorrow). Sony Computer Entertainment Europe released a press release this morning confirming that PlayStation Home Beta will be a free download available to all PS3 owners tomorrow by navigating to the PlayStation Home icon in the PlayStation Network column of the XMB (the navigational interface of the PS3). The icon should appear after booting or rebooting the PS3, and PS3 owners will need both a broadband connection and a PlayStation Network account in order to access the service. Although downloading, accessing, and participating in PlayStation Home will be free, in order to be a "Clubhouse" owner, you will have to buy the "entitlement to run the club." The entire experience offers you an avatar and a virtual world to explore and to socialize with your virtual friends, similar to Second Life, but tied closely into all things PS3, including, of course, the games.

If you're looking to socialize with your gaming friends, but you don't have a PS3 or you aren't interested in socializing in a 3-D environment on the console, then make sure you check out our interview with gaming social network Raptr's founder, Dennis Fong.
