Logitech has announced a programmable keyboard for gamers, its G13 "advanced gameboard". The G13 lets you customize the inputs for its 25-key layout and mini-joystick to suit your favorite games. You can group together a set of keys for changing your weapons, accessing in-game chat menus, or performing macros. If you're playing a fighting game that uses a specific combination of button presses to pull off a move, you could enter that string of inputs into the G13's software and execute them all with the press of a single button.

The top of the G13 houses a mini 160 x 42 LCD panel that can display status updates provided by the game: your hit points, experience level, or other appropriate game data. Unlike with the programmable keys and macros, a game needs to specifically be supported by Logitech to make use of the LCD display. Thankfully, the company provides a list of titles so you can see if you'd get much use out of the feature before picking one up. You can save your configurations to the keyboard with its 20MB of flash storage; Logitech sells it pre-configured with button layouts for popular titles, including World of Warcraft. The G13 will be available this month for around $80.
