Utah-based Open Air Cinema is trying to bring back the outdoor movie-watching experience with a 16-foot inflatable projector screen. The screen by itself costs $1,000, has a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and comes with an air blower for on-site inflation. It only weighs 17 pounds, so it should be easy to transport or bring back into the house during a storm.

You'll need a projector to actually produce the image, so Open Air has also put together a CineBox Home package that includes the screen, a projector, an audio mixer, two large speakers, and a portable DVD player — all together for $3,300. The equipment is pretty bare-bones quality-wise, so if you want to watch in high definition (which, let's be honest, would be ideal on such a large screen!) or 5.1 surround sound, you'd be better off purchasing just the screen and getting your other equipment elsewhere.

The company already offered lower end systems and smaller screens at lower price points, but this 16-foot squishy monolith is a new addition to its lineup. If only it hadn't come in the dead of winter!
